I know most of you who consistently read my journals are my RL friends (and if not, you need to be) so I was wondering what you all would think of my posting a steady comic. That means keeping a schedule/deadline and posting once a week with a new panel. Now, before you say "yay" or "nay", let me pitch the idea:
Thinking of calling it "Late Bloomer" and it's a result of my overactive imagination and wonky sense of humor. Basically it's going to encompass a little bit of everything: everyday life, nerd culture, political and moral observations. Kind of like your funnies in the newspaper. My biggest inspiration for doing this is none other then the great Bill Waterson, who as you know wrote and illustrated Calvin and Hobbes (my favorite comic of all time). There are also some online comics I draw inspiration from and their links/deviant accounts will be posted at the end of the journal for easy access.
I really want this to be a regular thing every week, even if it's just a quick doodle done when I have a few minutes to spare. I'm not gonna make a set of panels to throw doodles in or even define the style by using pen, pencil, or digital drawing only. I want this to be pure inspiration, whatever comes to me in the week time frame. I believe that inspiration drawn from real life is going to be my strongest asset, since jokes that are born in the spontaneous moment are more interesting then strategized humor.
Trying to be very "zen" about the whole thing and leave it open to change at this moment. So I'm asking for my beloved watchers to give me some feedback. If you have stories to tell or suggestions to make, either about your own comic experience or your impressions, please leave a comment or send me a private note. I will reply as soon as I am able to.
Thank you guys, love y'all!
